  Chapter One

  Meeting Sin

My heart was racing ninety to nothing as I walked into Sin’s Den. Kera had gotten me the interview, and I really wished she was standing beside me now, because I wasn’t sure if I was capable of going through with this. I’d never waited tables in my life, and as far as a strip club? Until now there was no reason for me to walk inside the doors. Taking a deep breath, I knew I had to calm down or blow this opportunity.

I wasn’t vain by any means, but I knew that men considered me attractive. At the moment I was hoping my looks would at least make the club owner consider giving me a chance. I needed money, and fast. My courses at college weren’t cheap and the dorm room had already killed my budget for the semester.

I was up to my eyes in student loan debt, and my part- time job at the school store just wasn’t cutting it. Living off ramen noodles, and Vienna sausages was the norm for me of late. I was so sick of those things, but it was all I could afford. Smoothing down my white mini-skirt I walked over to the bar hoping beyond hope I didn’t screw this up.

“What can I do for you sweet cheeks?”

“I’m meeting with the owner about a job.” The man behind the bar looked like your average guy, and he smiled at my response.

“Follow me. I think Sin’s been waiting on you.”

With a nod, I followed behind the man, wondering what kind of man Sin was. Kera said he rarely spoke to the other girls, unless he was chewing them out. He kept the customers in line when needed, but other than that he was pretty aloof. Walking back to his office I hoped he wasn’t a pervert. I bit back a nervous laugh at that thought, I mean the guy owned a strip club!

The bartender knocked on the worn wooden door and a deep timbre voice answered back. “It’s open”

I was a bundle of nerves as I entered and glancing at Sin did little to help my heart rate. The man was named after his looks, because he was sexy as sin. Even sitting behind a desk that had seen better days, his powerful shoulders and full head of blond hair was enough to make me gasp. “I’m guessing you’re Sin? I’m Kera’s friend, Anya, she set up the meeting with you.”

His sexy mouth lifted into a smirk, and I realized I was rambling. Shutting my mouth quickly I stood there gawking at him. I didn’t know what to say. This was a man who made my knees weak, and trust me there wasn’t one before him that ever did that.

He didn’t speak for a minute, instead his eyes roamed over me from head to toe inspecting my person. I blushed deeply. I wasn’t used to men taking that much of an inventory. I felt like my mini-skirt was too short, and the pink camisole top that Kera insisted I wear wasn’t covering nearly enough.

“You want to waitress? More money is made as a dancer.”

I just thought my face was red before. I blushed deep red at that suggestion. “I couldn’t do that. I don’t even like to shower around other women.” Had I said that out loud? I wanted to sink into the floor. His chuckle embarrassed me even more.

“You got the body to dance, but your call. You make minimum wage and tips. I’ll give you the weekend to prove you’re worthy of keeping around.”

The way his eyes were still taking in my appearance I wanted to cover myself or show him what I was hiding. The latter shocked me. I considered myself very conservative. If I wasn’t on the verge of having to quit school I’d of never walked into this kind of place. I didn’t think badly on Kera, but I wasn’t the type of woman who could strip for a living.

“So you’re giving me the job?” He hadn’t asked me any questions.

“Kera tells me you’re a college girl. The men will get a kick out of that. Fuck up and I’ll kick you out on your ass. I don’t allow drugs in here. If you screw one of the patrons, keep it off the property. Don’t bring your personal shit in my club. You work off those rules and we won’t have a problem. Be here Friday at seven, Kera can show you around.”

I hoped my mouth wasn’t hanging open at the way he spoke to me. I wasn’t accustomed to anyone talking that way around me. I nodded, not sure what I was supposed to say to his directions.

“The uniform is simple. Pair of black silk shorts, and our club t-shirt. Stop at the bar and tell George to find your size. Oh! Fill out these papers, and I need a copy of your driver’s license.”

I hadn’t been asked to sit, so I awkwardly fumbled in my purse and handed over my license, before bending over to pick up the papers he tossed on the table. When he stood up I forced my eyes not to gawk. The man was like a walking Adonis, and yeah I couldn’t stop looking.

“Just so you know, I don’t fuck my girls.”

I was stunned at his confession. Apparently my eyes were more expressive than what I normally allowed. I nodded again, and focused on the paperwork. He walked off with my card and I took a huge breath in. Sin was one pre
tty package, but everything about him screamed hands off. Probably a good thing considering I wouldn’t know what to do with a man like him if given the chance.

I filled out the form. It was just basic stuff about my work history and contact information. When he walked back into the room I had my thoughts where they belonged. “Thank you for giving me a chance Mr. Sin.”

“Just Sin. Save that formal shit for your college professors.” He glanced over the form and then turned his mesmerizing, cold blue eyes back on me. “We’re done here. Don’t be late Friday night. If you change your mind about the dancing gig, let me know.”

I’d been dismissed. Standing up I gave him a quick smile of appreciation then hauled my butt out of there. Sin didn’t seem like the type of man who liked small talk, or people wasting his time. I felt like I’d been burned by being alone with him for the few minutes I had.

Making my way back to the bar I found George. He smiled warmly I returned the gesture. “Sin told me to ask for a uniform.”

  “What size you wear doll?”

“Size three in pants, small in shirt.” I watched him walk off and turned my attention to the room.

It looked just like the strip clubs I’d seen in movies. A long stage with a few poles filled the majority of the area. Twenty tables sprawled out around a black lacquered stage. If I had to guess full capacity here was about 300. I wondered what it was like to be one of those girls stripping. I couldn’t imagine men checking me out as I took it all off. The thought made me shiver.

George walked back in carrying a few uniforms in his arms. “These should work. There’s only three, and if you lose one, it comes out of your check.”

“Thanks George, by the way I’m Anya.” I reached out and took the clothes, smiling at him. He didn’t threaten me with his appearance. George looked like he could be someone’s grandfather. He was slightly balding, and a little thick. His eyes weren’t all over me the way Sin’s had been.

“Kind of surprised you’re not dancing. Pretty little thing like you could make some serious money?”

“Just not my thing George, but thanks for the compliment.” I wanted to be friendly. This job was hopefully going to save my butt.

“Too bad. But hey, you can change your mind later.”

I wanted to say not unless hell froze over, but I figured that would be rude. “You never know. Well I guess I’m going to head back to school.”

He was smiling as I left, so I guess I said the right thing. Driving back to campus, I felt a like a load had been lifted from my mind. Kera said a waitress could make a couple of hundred a weekend. Between that and my job at the school store I might be able to afford a decent meal in a few weeks.

It was Thursday, and I didn’t have class until Monday. I tried to keep all my courses scheduled on the first three days of the week, the same days I worked at the campus store.

Lana and Kimberley, my roommates, had courses today so I had the dorm room to myself. Walking back to my small room, I put my uniforms away before heading back to the kitchen area.

Popping the top on a can of sausages, I gagged as I forced them down my throat. Washing them down with bottled water, I made a face. To take my mind off my meal choice, I called Kera to let her know I’d gotten the job. Pulling out my cell I waited for her to answer.

“So how’d you like meeting Sin?”

Her laugh told me she knew just what I thought and I blushed. “He’s um definitely different. You could of have warned me that the guy looked like a Greek God.” I’m not sure anything she’d said would have prepared me for meeting him.

“He’s damn hot alright, but I haven’t been able to get him to even wink at me.” I knew that was a sore point. Men didn’t ignore Kera. She was tall, raven haired, with a body that left most men panting.

“You mean there’s a man on this planet that doesn’t want to be with you?” I was pretty shocked. Maybe the guy was gay.

“Whatever smart ass. Men would be knocking down your door if you’d let them. Pull your head out of the books for five minutes, you might notice that.”

“I need to concentrate on studies. Unlike you, some of us have to work to pass.” Kera didn’t understand that men weren’t on my radar at the moment, or how easy she had it passing classes without trying. She’d tried to set me up with several of the campus hunks, but they just didn’t appeal.

“You need to get laid. I swear you get more prim and proper by the week. So when you starting?”

I didn’t take offense to her words. That was just who she was. “Friday night. I hope you’re right about the money.”

“The money will be decent. If you’d take my advice and show off some skin you could be living out here with me.”

Kera was living the life. Even with her college expenses she could afford to live in the exclusive condo’s that rich kids inhabited. I admit, I was a little jealous. “I’d probably puke on the first customer.” I knew she was trying to be helpful, but me taking my clothes off? No thank you.

“You definitely need to get laid.” She chuckled into the phone and I shook my head.

“Can I get ready at your place Friday night?” I wanted to change the conversation topic.

“No need to ask. Get here about five and I’ll do your hair and makeup. We need you making all the men cream their pants when they see you.”

  I blushed bright red. “Kera!”

“Stop being such a prude. If you want to make money you need to make them pay attention. You’re competing with woman on the stage showing it all.”

Blowing out an exasperated sigh I knew she was right. “I hope I don’t screw this up.”

“Stop talking like that. All you have to do is bat your pretty little eyelashes and they’ll be falling over you like dogs in heat.”

“As long as they are tipping well I don’t care what they do.”

“Now that’s the right attitude! I need to run I’m having a wax done, you want to join?”

“I’ll pass this time. Have fun. I’ll see you Friday.”

Hanging up the phone my stomach rumbled. I really wanted a steak at the moment!

  Chapter two

  Friday

I finished studying Friday, and showed up at Kera’s place at five. My uniform was neatly pressed and hanging in a plastic sack. I couldn’t afford a dress bag. Knocking on her door, I waited for her to answer. A drop-dead, sexy man answered the door instead and I stared at his body. He was wearing a towel around his waist, and nothing else. How could I not look?

“Hey. I’m Luke, you must be Anya.”

I nodded, trying not to gawk at the six-pack abs this guy was sporting. “Um yeah, can I come in?” His muscled arm was braced over the door as he stared at me. I wanted to take a step back. I just didn’t feel very comfortable around men in general.

“Free country,” with a charming grin, he held the door open and I walked through.

“Back here.” I heard Kera call out and I hurriedly walked to her bedroom with Luke following close behind.

“Can I use your shower?” I wanted to get away from the walking testosterone who couldn’t seem to keep his eyes off my butt. It was making me nervous. I hadn’t expected anyone but Kera to be here.

“Sure thing. You know where it is.” Kera was sitting at her vanity putting on her face and I quickly walked to the bathroom.

“You need some help in there, let me know.” I shut the bathroom door and locked it, deciding not answering the guy was probably smart. Obviously he didn’t have a problem sharing.

“Leave her alone, Luke. She’s starting at the club with me tonight.” I heard Kera speaking and almost groaned. Now the guy was going to think I was a stripper.

Turning on the water, I carefully stepped in the shower trying not to get my hair wet. I’d just washed it earlier this morning and it took forever to dry the long locks. I knew we didn’t have much time so I washed off and did a quick shave of my legs.

Normally I would have just kept on the tow
el while Kera did my hair and makeup, but I knew with Luke there I didn’t want to give that impression. Pulling my underwear and bra out of the overnight bag, I slid those on and then dressed in the uniform.

The shorts showed my butt, and the shirt fell just below my bra. I hated showing that much skin, but there was no help for it. Sitting on the toilet, I pulled on my no-show socks and black tennis shoes. When I felt I was presentable, I took a deep breath and exited the bathroom.

Walking back out into Kera’s bedroom, my heart nearly dropped into my stomach. Luke had her bent over the bed and was driving home forcefully. Turning my head away I was more than a little shocked. I wasn’t sure what to do. Walk back in the bathroom until they finished, or just keep my head turned? I didn’t have to make the decision as Luke pulled out of her, and turned to face me.

  “Enjoy the show?”

I just stood there with my mouth hanging open. How was I supposed to answer that?

“Just ignore him,” Kera smirked. “Give me five to grab a shower and we’ll get started.”

Nodding at her, I turned away from the sight of Luke in all his glory. There was no shame at all in this glorified man. Kera had never been shy, but this was a little over the top, even for her.

“I’ll keep her company,” he winked at me and patted the bed.

“Give it a rest, you won’t be getting it up for another half hour.” Kera rolled her eyes and then turned to me. “Don’t worry about him, he just likes to pretend he’s insatiable.”

She walked into the bathroom and left me alone with him. I wasn’t sure what to do so I sat down at the vanity and started brushing my hair. I was shocked when Luke walked over and grabbed my brush, taking it upon himself to finish the job.

Having a naked man messing with my hair was not in my comfort zone, but I couldn’t seem to tell him to stop. I kept my body tense as he expertly groomed me. Obviously Kera was wrong because unless I was mistaken it wasn’t a flaccid member resting against my back now.
